The common brush – commentator is the main difference between DC brush motors and brushless motors. Brushed DC motor’s commutation is always adopting graphite brushes to touch ring commentator which installed on the rotor to achieve.
While the brushless DC motor is couple back the rotor position to the control circuit Via Hall sensor so that it can get the exact time of motor phase commutation. Most brushless motor manufacturers produce the motors with three Hall Effect position sensors. Since brushless motors is without brushes, so there is no relevant interface, therefore, cleaner, quieter, no maintenance but longer life.
